Land Rover Discovery 2.7 turbo replacement?
Hi there I got Land Rover Discovery 3, diagnostic machine said it was something like “variable geometry in turbo fault” but I?m not sure. It is a common Disco 3 problem with these 2.7 or 3.0 Diesel engines? Are you familiar with it and what can I do to rectify it? The diagnostics…Problem lays above 3000, I try rev over 4k when is hill, car is moving very slow forward. I think the turbo is gone.

*? I’v got a Range Rover TDV8 and the left hand side turbo actuator is just buzzing
it move ok when you move with you hand do you sell them thank* there is no a problem with the actuator but a VNT control unit inside of the
turbo charger. Do not waste your money and effort to change just the actuator.
Actuator has a resistance sensor which triggers engine system fault if cannot
overcome obstruction on the VNT.. We are here to help mate
- It off the car it dose not move it just buzzing all turbo part moving ok
*How did you test it?
- Left it plug into the car and switch on driver side mover up and down
left hand side no move just buzz all the time and dose not stop buzz like driver side
*What about the rod? is VNT free in full range?
- It was here rust and stiff the bit that go into the turbo move ok it a l322 2008 the car is not used a lot 3500 mil last year
*How much for you to put a new turbo on it?
- VNT more ok not as free as driver side
*if prise is ok when cam you do it and now long to do
- to sort out problem completely you need to change turbo mate, we can do full supply and fit inc turbo oil oil, filter, air filter, feed pipe 2y warranty on turbo and 2y warranty on labour would cost ?…
