Blocked DPF increased exhaust gas temperatures, increased back pressure, block back preasure, blocked DPF can cause the turbo charger failure. Lack of service, low quality of oil, oil filter or air filter can cause the turbo charger failure.
High speed rotors spean up to 200 000 rev / min and high exhaust temperatures makes turbochargers very sensitive for poor quality oil, filters, oil contaminations, oil leaks, oil?starvation and blocked exhaust pipes (exhaust backpressure).
Turbo Problems?
Turbo Failures Problems Faults
Before installing the new or reconditioned turbocharger it is very important to determine the source of failure to prevent re-damage the turbocharger.
Turbo Failures Turbo Problems Turbo Faults
The most common reasons for failure turbochargers are:
1. Oil contamination
Oil contamination can cause the occurrence of deep scratches on the bearings. To avoid such damage, use oil and filters of high quality. In addition, they must be replaced regularly according to the manufacturer of the car and after each repair turbochargers.
Failures linked to oil contamination, can be caused by: damaged oil filter, low quality oil filter and low quality oils.

2. Contamination in the intake & exhaust system
Foreign objects entering either the compressor inlet from the damaged air filter or through the turbine inlet coming out of the engines combustion chamber.

3 Turbocharger oil leaks
Small leak can cause the turbo to work harder than normal to reach its desired pressure, so great care should be given to the plumbing system on the pressure side of the turbo.

4 Crankcase breathing – engine breather problems
Oil leaks in a turbo may be the result of problems in the crankcase ventilation system

5 Interruption or restriction to oil supply
The exhaust system needs regular inspection. Increased back pressure due to clogged or damaged DPF or catalytic converters will increase the temperature inside the turbo and slowly damage turbo bearing and turbo seal.

6.Oil starvation
Lack of lubrication oil flow
